Originally recorded by Flood Zone in 1997 but never released.

There's something wrong with the world today
It's obvious to see
But it's hard to blame anyone in a blameless society
Now I admit I don't see everything
in strictly black and white
But all you see is shades of gray
and I don't think that's right

Why are we bad when we're not bad?
Why are we good when we're not good?
I don't regret the times I've had
I guess that makes me bad 'cause I'm not bad.

Now early on they teach us what's right
and what we should not do
But it all gets twisted around
by the time we're through
Now they tell us what we learned is wrong
The way things ought to be
They tell us what to protest
It all seems kind of backwards to me

You can know a man by his friends
but by his enemies too
So the more one comes under fire
The more what he says is true.
Now you're finding other rebels like you
so you can make your voices loud
But I insist you're not a rebel at all
You're just conforming to a different crowd.
